Rising senior. My SAT score is a 1900 (taking in once more after a summer of math tutoring fun D': ). Math: 580 CR: 710 W: 610. I have a weird CPA system, but my GPA is around a B+/A-. 2 years honors english, plus 3 AP classes and one College Level class. 2 years of Arabic as well as 3 years of spanish for language. Extra Curriculars include various leaderships positions (Class Sec, Orientation leader, ext...) Also a Capstone project on Capital Punishment with the Undersecretary of Criminal Justice of Connecticut. Lab assistant, plus an independent research project which hopefully will lead to getting something published (My teacher said i would be Co-Authoring something). 4 years of Fencing. And i also have had a part time job for the past year and am still working. Also I've visited the campus and "Demonstrated Interest". What are your thoughts!?

You do stand a chance. A higher GPA would really help, since both the SAT score and GPA are usually weighed equally, at least as far as US news rankings go. Taking advanced classes helps, but schools really do pay close attention to the underlying GPA, since that affects their average for ranking purposes. Fordham’s average GPA is A-, so getting your grades up to that level would definitely help you out. Your SAT score (1290 combined) is right around Fordham’s average. Although your Reading score is exceptionally good, I would recommend to try to bring the math score up to at least a 600. Fordham is getting selective each year; this year’s acceptance rate was 37%, so nothing is guaranteed. Getting some kind of a scholarship would be pretty difficult with those stats.

My cousin this year was admitted with an “A” GPA and about 1850 SAT score, but he applied to the LC campus. My brother had an 1850 SAT score and “A-” GPA, but was wait-listed and later rejected to RH couple years back (2007), before he ended up transferring from Baruch to the LC campus. I applied back in 2004-2005 and got in with a 1350 SAT score/B+ average to the business school (also received an yearly $4,200 scholarship), but admission standards since then have increased.

My best guess is that you have a good chance of being admitted to LC and a reasonable chance of being admitted into RH. Good luck!
