Currently I am a sophomore in high school (yeah I know I'm a lil young). Freshmen year first semester I had an overall average of an 83 which in my opinion isn't that great. The next semester I jumped up 9 points and got a 92 average and since then I've been getting 90 averages. I just got back my average that was a 91.5. The point of all of this is that my GPA is in the upper 80's (for freshmen year my GPA was an 86). I'm not too sure what my GPA would be now with my sophomore first semester grades currently, but I don't think it increased by that much. I'm scared that it'll be extremely difficult for me to raise my GPA into the 90's. I'm also worried that colleges might use the 83 against me. Has anyone here ever messed up a certain year in high school but gotten back on track? I'm just a little bit stressed out. I know I'm only a sophomore but I'm also scared I won't be able to receive any scholarships from schools. My plan was to have really good grades and to apply to a CUNY school (ie. Hunter for nursing) and maybe get a sort of scholarship for "academical achievement". I just need some advice and some reassuring maybe?

If you can keep raising your GPA then the 83 wont count against you because it shows an upward trend. And yes, it is absolutely possible to raise it to the 90s or mid 90s by the time college applications come around.
