Hi, I was a fourth year student at UCR when I encountered academic problems.

The main problem was that I was doing so poorly on my upper division courses for math that I filed for withdrawal for the university two straight times (Winter and Spring 2011). I was auto-readmitted the first time, but the second I needed a petition to get the withdrawal. I also thought at that point that I wanted a major change, from math to econ. I got the withdrawal and permission to readmit to CHASS, but I need a general readmission petition to get through CHASS and accepted so I can do a fifth year and finish my degree.

Now it has been over a month since my petition was sent. No word, and the front desk at CHASS student affairs said there has been no news. My worry grows. I may be technically in "good" standing, but 2 withdrawals in a row is eye-opening.

MY question is: What are my chances that the general readmission petition will be accepted or denied?

Notes:
- I already took some upper division econ classes (former major was math applied with emphasis to econ) and got nothing lower than a B.
- I can be under 216 units if I do the major change. I can even pursue to finish a math minor along with econ major and still be under 216. (150 units done so far)
- Had similar problems before last year for one quarter (retro-withdrawal due to medical problems though). No APs or STDs on official record though, overall GPA is 3.1 currently.
- Doing summer school at a CC to finish pre-reqs outside of foreign language.
