Hi, I am currently a rising senior and an out of state student. Rutgers NB is my top choice and I wanted to know if anybody would have a slight idea about my chances of getting accepted. My gpa is a 3.8 and I have a decent amount of extra curricular’s. However, my sat is a 1210/1600 and I can’t seem to improve my score. Will my chances still be okay with a low sat score?
Try taking the ACT to see if it’ll help. Your SAT score is low for RBS, SOE, and EMSOP but you can just go to SAS and then transfer
I took the act as a last minute decision and i didn’t have anytime to prep or study during the time so I got a 23. I am aiming to apply for SAS I’m just scared that because of my low scores they won’t take me there.
You’re below the 25% percentile for SAT for SAS so there wouldn’t be a guarantee that you get in but it’s possible that you could get in.
If I just barely made the 25th percentile (getting a 26 on the act) do you thing my chances would be on the higher end because of my gpa and having lots of extra curricular’s. Sorry for asking so many questions, I’m just very anxious about it because it’s my top choice.
Your GPA is actually in the mid range of SAS as the range of 25%-75% is 3.6-4.1 but many people have the same GPA with a higher SAT score and rutgers mostly looks at SAT scores. You should really try raising your SAT score or taking the ACT again. If you qualify for it financially, try applying to the EOF program as it makes admissions for rutgers significantly easier.
