What are my chances of getting in with a 2.6 GPA from SLU, a 4-year private university?
I really don’t know, @oaktree2018… Is it a competitive major you’re going into? Try going into the University’s common data set to see average stats for transfer students. Good luck!
@JessicaO I just checked and I believe that the minimum is a 2.0.
I’d say Go for it, with a really positive, energetic personal statement or whatever is on the transfer app. Find a current teacher (or maybe your student advisor?) to write you a letter of recommendation that talks about all your great qualities as someone who is interested in learning and is a sterling human being/community member. FWIW, my GPA was very middling for my first 2 years at college, to the point that I had to work my tail off the last two years to get it up to a 3.01
Show them how motivated you are, and call the admissions office and visit if possible. They are super friendly there.
Will do! Thanks @JessicaO!
