chances of transferring out from cc/uc?

i've been studying two years, of nursing/pre-allied health pre-reqs at a private institution for the past couple of years. i didn't want to go into nursing anymore or go into nursing school, and the tuition at the private college i was studying at, was too expensive and burdensome. so to continue my education, i decided to attend a community college, in hopes to transfer to a uc. so right now i'm currently attending a community college. the credits i have from the private college are mostly just science courses and pre-reqs for nursing (like anatomy/physio/microbio/stats/etc) so i dont really have many credits to fulfill the transfer requirements for uc's. i do have a lot of humanities credits and i have taken english 101,102, statistics, a couple history courses. but i want to go into economics, and transfer as an economics major since i find it not as hard and long to fulfil those economic major requirements as i attend cc (compared to a cs major, having to take the whole calc series for compsci majors to transfer). however, i have not taken microeconomics/macroeconomics, or calculus (which are the major requirements) and i will need to raise my gpa. even though i haven't taken economics courses or calculus, will i still be able to transfer for next year? i plan to take econ and calc classes this coming winter/spring. this quarter i am taking a couple ge's with 2 compsci classes. even though i have not taken any courses for econ/ but plan to in the coming quarters, what will my chances of transferring out from cc to uc for the next year look like? i'm hoping for ucsb, davis, and riverside, or any uc that will accept me. also, what does the average gpa look like for econ transfer majors?

You ought to talk to an xfer advisor at your CC.
