I'm an African-American male senior from DC. I have a GPA of 3.22 as of right now but its assured of going up to a 3.4 or 3.5 by the end of the year. I got a 1620 on my SATs. And I'm taking every possible AP class my schedule can take plus with a honors class. Plus I'm 15th in me class.
Since I've applied to Penn State, I've fell in love with University Park. But I'm scared i might not get into that campus.. I'm assured that I will get into the school, but i only want University Park. I have two friends that have higher GPA scores but much lower SAT scores and they got into University Park, which is making me anxious. I fall into deep thought every time I think of it. Please will someone help me and tell me if i have a shot or not!?

From what I have seen on the decision’s thread of 2017 is that this year’s applicant pool is very (actually extremely) weak compared to last year’s. Last year any sat score lower than 1700 and 3.5 GPA was denial but this year people are getting acccepted with 3.3 GPA and 1550 SAT so you should be able to get in for sure but the most important question is Did you apply before November 30 ? Penn State is a match for you…

That’s another problem, I waited because i wanted yo boost my GPA up because i took Some half semester classes. I had a 3.0 first and I knew I had no chance at University Park with that. And I have just been sent a list of scholarship opportunities from the school today without a decision

Well you should have just applied since you can always ask for reconsideration. Don’t worry you will get in…as I already mentioned, for this year you are still above the 25th percentile…just my guess

I would love to inform you that got accepted into University Park!!!

Knew it !!! Penn State was a match

congratulations!!!
