<p>It’s really variable every year. My roommate, for example, got off the waitlist but I don’t know if they release specific numbers. It does happen though!</p>
<p>Curiously, this is one statistic that is really hard to track down, and I’ve never seen an answer. From what I’ve researched in the past I would only say 1. “small”. and 2. “variable”. Sorry not to be more helpful.</p>
<p>My D was on waiting list 3 years ago. From what she found out, less than 10 people got off the waiting list, but it changes every year due to financial aid being available, number of students who decline their acceptance or change their mind. Its a very long and emotional time because the waiting list can go into the summer leaving one wondering what the outcome will be. The best advice I can give you is to concentrate on the colleges who accepted you. My D was upset she did not get into Brown, but she has done so well where she chose to go, it was a blessing in disguise. Good luck in your college decision.</p>
