It's a very good public high school with a good reputation in state. Don't know how much UF would know about Plano High.

Band freshman year

Four years baseball. Varsity senior year. 700 hours a year invested in baseball. Played 120 games this year, making the Mickey Mantle World Series for 16U with team this summer.

Attended four summers of Duke Tip program; two at Davidson and two at Duke taking Philosophy, Debate, Literature and Abnormal Psychology.

No other significant ECs as doing select and high school baseball year round eats up a ton of time. I'm hoping the admissions folks understand that part.

Brother got denied at University of Texas two years ago as an IB student with similar SATs and grades. It is scary how hard it is to get into places like UF and UT.

Good shot. I'd say around 60-75%. Would be in the high 80's if you were in state IMO. Good luck

UF is definitely a match for you.

but I'd say yes and the out-of-state certainly helps. However, legacy doesn't seem to matter based on what we saw last year. Again, I smile today when I see these chance me posts because it really seems to vary with each passing year. Good luck!

Yes you have a good chance. Legacy will cancel out your Out-of-State status in my opinion.

Best of Luck!

pretty much a lock

Your scores are higher than most people applying and the baseball is a good EC. Legacy helps. OOS is a debatable advantage/disadvantage--to the state, you will be someone who pays more money and provides more funds as opposed to most in-state applicants who pay very little b/c of Bright Futures.

To the best of my knowledge, it seems like you will get in. UF gets more competitive every year, but your application is strong.
