Can I get in? If so, could I qualify for merit aid?

I hate when people say "for sure". There is no for sure in this game of college applications. I have had friends that received 36s on the ACT, #1 or 2 in their class with crazy extracurriculars that have been rejected from Umich and accepted to Stanford, or rejected from Cornell and accepted at Umich and Duke. Texas789 you have a very good and respectable chance, the earlier you apply the better chance you will have. There is no guarantee, but I contend that if you write well you have a very good chance of receiving admissions as well as merit aid. Good luck and just make sure you get all your apps in early!

Maguo, 1420 on the SAT is only slightly above average for Michigan nowadays and a 3.8 unweighed GPA is pretty much the norm. Yes, Texas has a very good chance of getting in. The Westinghouse will also help his chances. As for merit scholarship, I would definitely not count on it, although he definitely has a chance.
