Chances: Penn, Notre Dame, UChicago, JHU, Columbia, Northwestern

I’m applying as a transfer student from a T-10 LAC (either Williams, Pomona, Middlebury, Amherst, or Bowdoin).

Stats:
HS GPA: ~3.95
ACT: 35
SAT: 1500 (not sending)
ECs/Awards: National AP Scholar, Salutatorian, NMF, basketball, and various club

College GPA 1st Sem.: ~3.7
Intended major GPA = 4.0
ECs: 3 leadership roles, 1 in a career-related club, 1 in a peer wellness/support club, 1 in an extracurricular club, and membership in another club related to major.

One worry is my midterm rep. On it I have all As in major related classes, but in a science class I’m taking out of interest in natural phenomena I have a C on my midterm report. The professor did add a note. He wrote that this grade does not show full accuracy of my performance and that he expects it to have an upward trajectory. Will that repair the midterm report in adcoms eyes?

Chances generally speaking at these school? First choice major is Philosophy, second is Economics

It’s hard to predict transfer cases, hope you get in one you like the most.

Unless it’s for health or financial reasons, transferring is usually a bad idea. Basically, you’re losing credits (spending more money) for a bachelors degree that you could have obtained faster by simply staying.

@coolguy40 It’s for major and fit related reasons. Based on the courses I’ve taken there is also a high probability most if not all of them will transfer.

Bump. Is this C going to tank my chances (even w/ the comment provided by the professor)?
