That's all i can think of for now...

I'd really appreciate any insight you guys have seeing as how you were already accepted! Thanks in advance.

Oh by the way- my school does class rank on a numerical scale i.e. 96.2 so many students who take all standard classes are ahead of me in class rank, i don't know if that helps my chances at all? What do you think?

can you get recruited for golf?

otherwise slim

id say "slim" as in the same way id say it for the other 10 thousand kids applying...

nothing auto-rejects you, but nothing puts you apart.

umm exactly.

at lite universities you NEED a PROACTIVE reason to be admitted, not just another face in the crowd. hence, the necessity of golf recruitment.

Agree with comments above. Dartmouth will be very tough.

but there is a chance of me being admitted correct? applying wouldnt be a complete waste of time, or would it?
and about golf, i think maybe the golf coach could leave a spot for me and try to better my chances but i dont think im quite scholarship material.

oh and does the fact that they sent me an application without me sending any reply mail have any significance?

No, receiving an unrequested application doesn't mean anything. And btw Dartmouth doesn't offer scholarships for athletic recruitment. But it's still a Division I school.

i think i knew that i didnt mean i would get a scholarship from dartmouth, i was just saying overall i am not of scholarship caliber for a Divisin I school, at least i dont think...

The ACT is good but it will come down the the SAT. you need it to make up for your rank. Get a 2200+ and all of a suddent you have a much better shot.

Thanks for the input, i plan on getting a 2200+, i think its possible, anyone else have advice?

In your overall presentation: get interesting! Be memorable.

It is not simply the facts and statistics…it’s you.

thanks for the advice, i hope my personality will stand out in my essays, i agree that will be my deciding factor for almost all of my applications

Do you have any SAT II scores? Definitely try to up your SATs because I heard Dartmouth looks at standardized test scores a lot.. also you should emphasize how you're good at golf. that might make you stand out. Be creative and original with your essays and make them interesting. =)

i havent taken any sat iis yet, do you have any suggestions for which ones i should take? and i expect to raise my SAT score to above 2200, with at least a 1500 in math/verbal

anyone else have some tips?

oh, do you think it would be a good idea to contact the coaches? like i said im not gonna be recruited but maybe they could leave one of their spots open for me if they see potential?

How are your golf scores? Do you consistenly shoot in the 70's?

yes i do.... 10 char
