<p>admissions officers will pick up on the tactic that students use by trying to get into programs they really don't have a passion for, they just think they are easier to get into...and try not to sound pompous.</p>
<p>I mean that in a helpful way, sorry if I sounded blunt but I know a lot of counselors do try to tell their students to avoid sounding pompous, overly experienced, or haughty in their applications. sorry for any misinterpretations you may have had about my previous post. :) good luck</p>
<p>yes. I also have an internship with a congressman. Are we talking state or national level representative? because national politicians carry a lot of clout at big schools.. assuming the politician has a good rep (i.e. Don't have Bush write your rec letter.) </p>
<p>I'm not bashing bush btw, i'm just saying he has a poor reputation at higher level colleges due to their generally liberal bias.</p>
