Ok, so here's my story: I moved between countries six times and attended 15+ schools while growing up (third culture kid) and had a rough first two years during American high school. My average for the first two years was 84% while my average over the final two years (and maximum AP load) was a 97%.

I took a gap year interning at a biopharm company after high school and applied to colleges. Unfortunately I was rejected from all of them (Hopkins/G-Town/Amherst etc). I thought the "diversity" element and "holistic" evaluation would include my situation, but I suppose my stats were just too hard to swallow!

During my gap year, I did take a few community college courses out of interest. I suddenly realized that I now have nearly half the credits to transfer, and a 4.0 GPA.

What do you think my chances are if I apply next March with the following stats?

Community College

GPA: 4.0 UW/30 credits
ACT: 30 (will probably not send)
SAT: 2200+ (goal if I take it) and send along with my SAT IIs
SAT IIs: World History - 800, US History - 790, Biology (M) - 790
Awards: Dean's List (should I have anything else - is there anything else?)

Work: full-time Internship as a product development scientist at a biopharm company
Publications: will include two published journal articles based on assay methods that I developed for measuring a new polymer nanoparticle therapeutic.

Community Service: 500+ hours as the Information/Technology director for a non-profit that sends professors to developing countries.

Leadership: IT Director. Oversee my own molecular biology lab with lab techs.

High School

GPA: 3.3/3.4 ish UW
Freshman: 85% UW (1 Honors class)
Sophomore: 83 % UW ( 1 Honors)
Junior: 96% UW (3 APs + 1 Honors)
Senior: 98% UW (4 APs+ 1 Honors)

Positions: Conduct Review Board member, National Honor Society, Model UN, IT Director of a Non Profit Organization.

Chances for Colleges:
Brown
Cornell
Amherst
Hopkins
Georgetown
and... "Middle Tier" places

Thanks for reading over this!

let me know your thoughts or if I should be doing something differently! I come from outside the system so the whole college process has been rather steep learning curve with all sorts of twists and turns.
