I’d day you’re 80% in. Though, as a student at University of Maryland, I know that they will be freezing a certain number of spots since they admitted way too many students for Fall 2007. The housing situations are not pretty, and I do not think they want to have anymore of a housing shortage.

However,
You have a solid GPA as well as test scores.

Looking at your stats, you remind me of myself when I applied, though my GPA was a BIT higher and scores were a bit lower.

My stats were: 3.75 GPA UW, 4.18 W GPA, 28 ACT/1240 SATs, numerous community service clubs, jewish forum(like JSU), took same APS minus USH and Enviro, and a member of NHS.

I’m an out of state student from South Florida. Best of luck man!

By the way, what is your major? Since you’re an Illinois resident, you should definitely apply to UIllinois and maybe even UChiTown(even though it’s private).

I was just deferred from U of I, and I feel so sick. I really wasn’t expecting it. Technically for them I had a 27 on the ACT though, since they only take your composite. Maryland says they average all of your best subscores. U of I was probably my first choice, and I didn’t think it was any harder tha Maryland.
