Dear cnugent : Recognize that with a 29 ACT composite score, you are right now at the 25th percentile based on the latest data from the most recent classes. With only that score offered and no SATs listed, you are already facing an uphill climb. Why are we not seeing more Board Scores from your junior year including perhaps SAT IIs? Your class rank is missing which leads one to believe that you are not top 10%.

Your count of AP courses is vague - will you have four AP courses completed by senior year or is that including honors classes? Remember that you will be competing against students scoring well with perhaps double or more AP courses.

On the positive side, you are service laden which might play into your favor if you can correctly position this material in your essays. Your awards listing reads like many others posting chance-me threads - there is nothing here that stands out.

It feels like I am on a run of negative reviews lately - and perhaps that is the nature of our early writers seeking early guidance : there are more bubble candidates asking for advice than usual.

Honestly, you are a stretch right now - we have seen many 29 ACT scores resulting in outright rejections, so that is the first place to start your application’s enhancements.

which schools are you interested in other than BC?

Your ACT is a little on the lower side, but its still good enough. Lots of volunteer work, but not all that much leadership. I’d say you have an OK shot at BC.

false, she obviously has a shot
