I have a 2.5 and a 1200 on my sats..
I play varsity basketball though!

Well, it’s not impossible! On SJU’s page on the College Board, it says that 15% of admitted students had between a 2.5 and 2.99, so that’s good. As for your SAT scores, it’s difficult to tell you much about that without knowing what you got on each section; however, according to their website, their middle 50% score is 1070-1240, although I’m pretty sure that’s excluding the writing portion because they don’t take that section into consideration. Varsity basketball should certainly help you considering SJU is really big on basketball - were you scouted by any chance? Also, you didn’t give us too much information about your resume, so your other extra curriculars, course load, APs, ranking, recommendation letter, and essay will help a lot. Good luck! SJU is a fantastic school - it’s one of my top two choices and if we both get in, maybe we’ll be classmates next year!

Does anyone know when they’ll send out decisions? I applied EA and it’s one of my safety’s. I have a 3.0 (UW) and a 34 on my ACT.

CSeagles31 - I made a board asking the same thing, no one seems to know! When I visited SJU recently I asked the lady at the front desk in the admissions building and she wasn’t quite sure but she said she assumed that they’d be sent out sometime during the week before the 25th, which would be next week! Crazy!

Hi everyone. Thank you for joining us on College Confidential! Your previous response about the mailing of decision letters was correct - we will be sending them out in the mail next week. You can anticipate the letters to arrive around December 25. Please keep in mind that aside from the Christmas holiday, December 25 also falls on a Sunday this year. But you can start checking your mailboxes towards the end of next week.
