I have 31 ACT and 4.2 GPA(weighted). I have taken lot of AP courses in high school. What are my chances in Purdue Data Science.
If Data Science is part of the CS department, it’s gotten crazy competitive. Chances are better if you are instate but another poster said CS has a poster hanging that last year’s average ACT was a 34.
Data science is part of science department
Look at Purdue’s data digest for beginning students. You can sort by college to see the average scores. Your ACT would be just below their average for the entire college of science. It doesn’t break it down any further by major.
Also - are you in-state? It makes a difference. Purdue’s a big school, your ACT is good and your grades are very good but this is a really hot major right now. Make an effort on the application and get it in early.
