As I have learned, take this to the "What are my chances" forum.

And the HC Alum here will likely tell you that the chances are vague since Haverford is rather unpredictable and whimsical in terms of acceptance.

Anyways, even the most qualified may expect a defferal (but rejection isn't likely if you are well qualified). I read most of the NY Times articles and the thread here...I've given up trying to find my chances since there is apparantly no formula for Haverford.

HC knows the kind of students it wants... applicants who have demonstrated that

1) they can handle the academic work load
2) are truly interested in the college
3) are open to the idea of an honor code and a community
4) bring a diversity of talent, perspectives and experiences to the college

So, in a way, it isn't "whimsical"... but rather it's just that the pool of such applicants is large, the differences between most applicants is small, measures of #1-4 are not precise, and HC can only have 315-320 students per class.

I am thinking of some ivies as well…worth trying?

Need some advice as to where do I exactly lie in my application process..
Competitive, slight chance, no chance, strong points, weak points??

I am desperate to 'know myself' help me out...

You're exaggerating the reach schools...your either match or safety to all of those schools seeing that you are an international student with credential superior to most native students here in the States.

I don't think you have a lot to worry about.

To be definitive, you can contact Coach Khan to ask... that's why i gave you that link. Scores and ECs are good to have, but what separates many people in elite college admissions, and especially LACs, is initiative. Contacting professors and coaches and asking intelligent questions shows maturity and genuine interest in the school. Good luck.
