Basically, I'm wondering if my extracurriculars+essay+SAT can outweigh my low classrank and gpa.

GPA: I'm confused by your statement above. Is the GPA you stated weighted or not? If it is- unweight it for this thread because each college weights differently and it is difficult to asses your situation without a raw score. If it isn't weighted, you are in good shape.

ECs: You have some great ECs. But I want to warn you, you have to be very careful how you put these on your resume. When I first read them I got the feeling that you did all these things junior and senior year solely for resume value. Am I wrong? Prove it on your application or don't put it at all.

-Service Club(12)
-Student Council(12)
-Book Club(12)
-Puzzle Club(12)
-International Club(11-12)
-Worldquest(11-12)

SATs:They aren't that bad...does not put you out of the running. A 200 point jump is a lot for retaking it. i hope you get it.

Essays: No real advice here- write the best essay you can about something real.

sorry, 3.84 weighted, 3.4/3.5 unweighted.

Puzzle Club, Book Club and Service club were all clubs I helped found/start my senior year.

Student council is election based, and I didn't run until senior year.
WorldQuest is really only for juniors and seniors, you can't get in until then.

Okay that makes sense.

Your GPA is a little low but depending on your interview and essays, it could be balanced out.

Okay that makes sense. I hope you understand where I was going with that...

I think you have a competitive chance. Not a slam dunk. Not an immediate denial. Good luck!

i like your chances sir.

UPDATE: 2310 on the SAT(800V/780W/730M). Will this significantly improve my chances?

Much. Great job! Apply ED for sure!

thanks. Any other opinions?

i'd say in with good essays!

thanks. Bump :)
