I applied last month but UW is my first choice, so I'm obviously incredibly anxious about being accepted. I was accepted to University of Pittsburgh, which is nearly identical to UW when it comes to percent accepted and SAT scores. They even sent me an email about how my "essay resonated with admissions and demonstrated true character" (and referenced specifics in my essay, so I know it wasn't a generic email for accepted students). So I'm pretty confident about the writing portion of my application..
My class rank is 50 out of 446. My unweighted GPA is a 3.70.
SAT scores:
Critical Reading-710
Math-630
Writing-640
I have a bunch of extracurriculars and took almost every honors course possible up till senior year. I'll have taken 3 APs upon graduating.
What's worrying me is my senior schedule. I'm afraid it looks like I slacked off, despite taking as many classes as I usually do. I didn't set out to take easier courses. I just aimed to take ones that actually interested me. Now I'm worried admissions won't think I challenged myself.
So, opinions?

why is the title of ur thread surprsing i know? what are you surprised about? your SAT i think its good enough shouldnt really hurt you. i think the only problem MIGHT be the rigor of our schedule considering you only took 3 APs…
other than that i think you have a good chance of getting in cause looks like u did well on ur essay. gl

I was being sarcastic. There are so many posts asking about acceptance chances, haha. Anyway, thank you.

P.S. I’m OOS. I forgot to tack that on.

You should be okay.

Even for OOS, your stats look pretty good. I think you’re in =)

But fyi, I live in PA so pretty much all my friends applied to Pitt and they literally ALL got that message about how touching or well-written or interesting their essays were. So, I think they really may send that to everyone who does the essay since its optional.
