i also deisgned a website for students at our district tutoring each and obtain service learning hours.
great recommendations from my english teach, cal teacher, and a counselor wiht PhD and 27 yrs experience.
great essays, and i'm really interested in electrical engineering at the top 10 schools, especially Ga Tech , Univ of illinois, and Purdue. if anybody knows any other top 10 EE schools, please tell me ! THANK u soo MUCH ooo and my high school is in the top 30-50 public high schools in the nation, and i'm a female

purdue, you're probably in, getting in isn't all that tough. UIUC, maybe, test scores could be higher and they're very numbers oriented, but your ec's and recs may make up for that. not sure about ga tech. I know that they're test score average is higher than uiuc and purdue, but that's about all i know.

thanks for the info, mind to share your stat and schools you're applying?

stats:
1470 SAT, 790M, 680V (but applied when it was 1440)
29 ACT (i hate that test more than anything)
4.0UW, 4.8W and 1/440
6 AP's total, so far I've gotten 2 5's, and taking 4 this year
graduating HS in 3 years, not sure if that made a difference
took most rigorous course load for first two years, then had to lighten up a bit because i'm taking an online course which takes up some time. but i still have 4 AP's this year, so it's still quite rigorous i guess.

ec's are decent, a leadership position in yearbook, elected librarian of orchestra, played cello for 8 yrs, soccer for 10, i think that's about it. community service is pretty nonexistant. I've tutored a lot, but i never took time to record how many hours, or get any proof that i do tutor, so it doesn't really count.

applied to purdue, penn state, and kansas state (in state just in case something goes wrong). accepted to everything. dean's engineering scholar and honors student, academic success award too at purdue. full tuition paid for at kansas state. i'm 99% sure i'm going to purdue. considered applying to uiuc, ga tech, umich, utexas, MIT, princeton, and UCB, but somehow never got around to it. I really like purdue, so it doesn't matter to me.

ECE is the most selective major at UIUC, so it's going to be hard, even with the small bump given to females applying to Engineering. The middle 50% ranges for 2004 were 1270-1480 SAT and 87th-97th percentile class rank. UIUC doesn't consider senior grades, so what was your class rank at the end of junior year?

my class rank kinda sucks, cause my high school is in the top 50 on the nationa (public), i think it's around 120-140/400, about top 30-40%. and our school's class rank is really inflated i heard, with that, what do u think about my chances at ga tech and purdue? thanks for the info

UIUC Electrical is pretty tough, and really good. you might try applying to another engineering and transfer your major? but this comes a little late i think.
