As the title states, I want to know my chances to get into those schools.

Have done research for two years and have gotten a publication as well as a podium presentation at a research society. Currently organizing Michigan’s first high school Biotech competition which will take place early next year
What I want to know is if my ACT score will be the prime reason why I don’t get a chance at some of these top notch schools. I am just not that good of a standardized test taker.
I plan to apply UofM and Boston University EA. While I am still unsure if I should even take a chance at applying to my reach schools like JHU, U Chicago, and UPenn. Looking at my stats, do you guys think its worth it? Has there been any success stories for students who have gotten a 30-31 and are Asian middle class? I appreciate any advice
Other ECs: Volunteering at Outpatient Pharmacy 100+ hrs, Shadowing an Internal Medicine Doctor 50+ hrs, Work at Kumon where I help tutor kids, integral part of school MUN where I attended many state competitions, Student athlete award, Summa Cum Lade
If you are applying to UMich LSA, you should be fine. It should be a match to high match for you from in state. Your ACT is just below admission average, but your GPA is above average which matter more. Your course rigor should be good too.
For UMich, it is. You can find that on their CDS too. The even boasted to have 21% enrolled freshmen with GPA 4.0 last year. I know someone got rejected with ~3.8 GPA and ACT 33 by CoE this year, while someone with 3.95 GPA and ACT 29 got accepted last year (both from the same HS). Obviously, the value of your GPA depends on your school profile and course rigor.
