What are my chances? Do you all need more information?

Yale & Brown=Reach
Others=match

Even NYU and Tufts is a match? With a SAT score of 1700?

All the schools you mention routinely reject applicants with a 2200 or higher.

Yale and Brown will have thousands of applicants with just as good ECs and recommendations as you, but will also have a 2400 and a 4.0 GPA and the majority of those applicants will be rejected.

You have absolutly zero chance at Yale, Brown, Tufts or Georgetown.
You have about a 10% or less chance at Emory or NYU.
You have perhaps a 15% or less chance at GW.
You need to be looking at a totally different class of school.

All my Model UNs are international and I’ve broken several records. Also my correcting system in my college is very rigorous. A GPA of around 2.5 can be considered as a GPA of 3.5-3.7

GPA/ECs aside, I don’t see any of those schools admitting you with that SAT score.

Hi. Simply put, 6/7 of the above are reaches, and George Washington is a match.

Who cares about model UN when you are below the line on scores? A student with a 1700 will have a major amount of difficulty performing academically at Yale or Brown where the typical student scored scored 600 points higher.

The other posters are right. To put it bluntly, you’re looking at schools way above your capability. Your ECs are great and all, but its incredibly hard to recover from a bad GPA and SAT score.

My thread (chance pls): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a></p>

Why not just try taking the SATs, or perhaps even ACTs (but this time study for it) again? When it comes to test scores and ECs, your test scores WILL way in more. Good luck!

Chance me back: <a href=“Brown University...Again. - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610685-brown-university-again-p1.html</a></p>

All are reaches besides George Washington.

Chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1612160-chance-me-for-good-and-rising-northeast-schools.html#latest</a></p>

Try the ACT! I did and LOVED it! Didn’t even take the SAT :)

They’re all reaches as of now, but you can change that with a little test grade!

Amazing EC’s I feel that if you relax a bit on those and prove that you can perform on your SAT (2150+ maybe?) you will be in a much better shape. Think of it this way, SAT’s are standardized tests, and especially as an exchange student colleges really want to get a grasp on you with some numbers. As a result, SAT’s AP’s anything with a quantifiable standard number will benefit you if you perform well.

I actually can’t give anything right now as my applications are just heading out. I also haven’t done Math in 3 years. My college didn’t offer Math. Also, my college grading is really hard and my teacher has admitted to it so does that improve my chances?
Thanks!

In India we a ret offered AP. And I’m a transfer student so AP won’t even seem important right?

I meant as an example of the kind of exams you want to consider. I didn’t mean take the AP’s. I meant “here’s an example of what I am talking about.” Sorry for the confusion.

Ah, thats fine. I don’t think SAT is available till April for me now. And by that time I should be getting my yes and no.

reaches

All reaches except for GW. Idk how they’ll standardize your GPA and test scores

All are matches except for Yale and Brown, which are high matches/low reaches
