I am an international student... I had a 2060 in my SAT, A 2300 in my subject tests, I made it to the semi-finals of a national television show based upon science (Though I do not have a certificate to prove it it), my stories and articles have been published in science fiction magazines and my journals have been accepted and recognized by the Government of India... Do I have a fair chance to make it to MIT or Caltech with a good scholarship?

No gpa? And ur sat score is reallyy low for MIT and caltech. U only have one (legit) ec worth mentioning? If u were in the USA ud have pretty much no chance but I have no idea about international acceptances

MIT only accepts about 150 international students per year. Focus on raising your SAT score and if you have a transcript of your grades, you can do your GPA calculations then. However, if those are the only EC’s you have, then you probably won’t make it to MIT with financial aid.

I have a pretty high GPA, Nearly 90 percent. PLus I got a 2130 in SAT (CR - 710, Math - 760, Wr- 660). I got a 2340 in SAT II ( Math 2c - 740, Phy - 800, Chem - 800). I got a lot of ECs as well. Any improvement in my chances?

Well be more specific.

With what you have now, the 2130 on the SAT and a “Nearly 90%” Is not going to put you in the top half of a percent of the already stellar international applicant pool. I knew a domestic with a 2380 and a 3.98 who was denied.

In all honesty with the competition from India, your chances are low. If you want to attend school in the US with financial aid, add some schools where your stats would put you at the top of their class. Schools ranked below top 50.
