Drumline Captian, NHS, Mu Alpha Theata, Comp Sci Team, Science Society President, church leader/band..Going to get an internship at WAMU (Washington Mutual).
Indian from texas

the best advice i can give you is to get an internship in the hospitality industry

Which sat math subject test should one take? 1 or 2?
Does it matter which one?

The problem I see is test scores. Right now that is your weakness. Also from what I read a job at a hotel is really really good vs. another job.

I took Math 1; it has a really bad curve, but its obviously not as difficult as Math 2. You should show Cornell you have a lot of leadership and work experience in the hospitality industry. Hope that helps.

so what are the 2 sat subject tests you have to take for the hotel school?

also, if you apply to the hotel school, do you have an option on what you want to do. I would like to do real estate (development) would that work?

Also, would my chances increase if I appled ED?

What kind of hosptitality things have you guys been apart of?

You have to take math and writing. BUt since writing is part of hte SAT I now, just math. Also, take IIC if you have taken trig/college algebra. I took IIC and IC on the same day and got a much higher score for IIC

I may just take both on the same day.

But honestly do I have a chance. When I apply will I be compared to other hotel students?

Your Standardised test scores seem on the lower side.
Do some hospitality related job.

Work on the above two, and you should have a good chance.

I know...i will bring my scores up. thanks.

Would getting a internship at a resort be better than an intern job at washington mutual?

Does cornell have like an discussion bored on their website or like a chat thing?

I know they do for the class of 2010...which only people who are part of can post, but I do not know of any others.

if I want to do real estate at the hotel school, do you think I should find a real estate internship? if so, where could i find one? (is there like a certain company type thing)

an internship at a resort sounds pretty good. you can find a real estate intership; probably try using any connections you have? or just go to a local real estate agency and see if you can intern there. that's what i did, only at a hotel.

when i applied ED to the hotel school, i took the US History and Math 1 SATs.

What do you guys think about the Washington Mutual Intership thing. i am interested in that.

it may help a little, but an internship that's hospitality oriented is a lot better to have. getting a job works just as well.

What kind of positions do they like to see?
like: cashier, waiter, clerk...

i worked at coldstone creamery over the summer, which i spoke about in my interview. i also included all the afterschool activities i was in. i think they also want to see leadership?

Does it matter if I apply to the Hotel School earlu decision....I heard it is rolling admissions anyway? anyone comfirm this?

Rolling admissions for regular decision. EDs are all in the same day.
