Chances to Transfer to CUNY

<p>Hi I am a sophmore at RPI and im taking time off this spring 07 semester. I was a computer science major and management minor. </p>

<p>I want to transfer to CUNY Baruch or any other CUNY. Possibly major in psychology or finance.</p>

<p>My GPA is pretty low in the 2.5-2.8 range. I went to Bronx HS Science came out with a 1350 on the SATs and 3.0 gpa.</p>

<p>What are my chances to get into CUNY Baruch or any other CUNY for the Fall 07 semester</p>

<p>Also if anyone can recommend any other school in New York City please do so. Any suggestions/comments?</p>

<p>Your current GPA will keep you out of the schools listed by Jslee.
Baruch would honestly be a high reach because it is one of the most respected of the CUNYs in the business world.</p>

<p>If I may suggest, try your chances at Lehman College (Part of the CUNY system) . It is a pretty good college and their minimum requirement for transfers is 12 or more credits and a GPA above a 2.0 .</p>

Btw, if you have great ECs and believe they will increase your chances by a large amount try going to the CUNY counseling offices in Manhattan and see what they say.</p>

<p>BTW who is more competitive in transfer admissions Columbia or NYU...just curious.</p>

<p>Lol, Columbia bud. It's an Ivy League. I am going to guesstimate Columbia's transfer rate to be about 5-9% and NYUs to be in the 30% range.</p>

<p>Yeah...I knew there were about 7 or 8 schools on the league of Ivies. Just did not know Columbia was included.</p>

<p>you should at least try to transfer to Pace, it isn't that hard to get into, but you will probably have to pay a lot of money</p>
