Chances to U of M?

Hi, I'm new here so...please don't burn me. I'm also quite new to the college application experience. But anyways, I thought it wouldn't hurt to give this a try.

I was wondering what my chances were to University of Michigan. I am especially worried because I've heard they don't weight grades anymore, and being a full IB student, my GPA is only a 3.6. Also, I will graduate from a very reputable high school, in state.
Will they still take into consideration the rigor of the IB program?

My ACT results will be somewhere around 28-30. I'm still debating whether to take the SAT, too, but I'd rather retake the ACT if my scores are terrible.

I'm active in an endangered species club and BuildOn (club for community service),and am VP of our school's environmental club.

I've been taking piano for 10+ years, and volunteer regularly at a local nature center (I have 50+ service hours).

I've taken various 6-week out of school "enrichment" programs (but these are required to graduate from our school anyways). They include pottery, photography, JAVA programming, and web Design.

Also, I'm asian-American, and plan on majoring in environmental sciences, if that has to do with anything.

This has been really stressing me out because I've always wanted to go there. But, I'd rather know my chances (and let my parents know) than being surprised when I get the rejection letter!

Thanks in advance.

Any info would be much appreciated…really, anything at all…

Or maybe I’m doing something wrong…?

It LOOKS like you should be a match. It’s a gigantic public school so the weight is more on stats. I suggest taking the SATs anyways, I took the ACTs just for the sake of taking it, and ended up doing a lot better than my SATs (2080 compared to 33). If like you said you are in a reputable in state school, which can only mean that they have had many students from your school and they should know your schools difficulty well.

Are you instate?

Thanks, guys!

Yes, I’m in state. My school sends a ton of kids to Michigan each year (I think only one or two get rejected), but, with the whole new weighting process, I was a bit worried.

Bump…a few more opinions would be helpful :)
