Chances to UIUC Engineering(Comp Sci)

<p>Hi,I'm an international student from Malaysia.</p>

<p>I don't know how to convert my high school GPA to US gpa system but it should be 4.0(unweighted) because I scored all the maximum grades (yes UIUC recognizes my high school from Malaysia)</p>

<p>I recently took my ACT Test and since I'm not from an English speaking country,I am expecting somewhere around 27-30..But I think I should score quite good for the math section.</p>

<p>I am usually the Top 3 in my class(around out of 200 students or more)..so yeah,top1.5%?</p>

<p>Do I have any chance to enter freshman for Comp Sci?I'm quite afraid as my expected ACT score isn't really in the Mid-50s (31-34)</p>

<p>PS:Forgive me if I have any errors regarding the class rank or such..I'm not familiar with US education system</p>

<p>If your ACT is expected to be 27-30, then your chance for UIUC engineering would be very low as international. Unfortunately, they do not use SAT2 or recommnedation for the admission process, so the SAT1/ACT score would be weighed heavily.</p>

<p>Try UIUC LAS as well… and UMass Amherst, too.</p>

<p>Yes, there are 2 more computer science programs in the LAS of UIUC, but I don’t think they are much less competitive. Just like their ChemE in LAS which is as competitive as any Engineering major.</p>
