I'm wondering about my chances at UCSD, Boston University, and University of Chicago.</p>

<p>I'm from NY, so all of these colleges are basically out-of-state.</p>

<p>SAT:
1st Attempt: 660 (Reading), 620 (Math), 540 (Writing) -- 7 (Essay)
2nd Attempt: 640 (Reading), 600 (Math), 620 (Writing) -- 10 (Essay)</p>

<p>Also, a question, by recommendations from a teacher, etc., do colleges mean a letter, or do they mean the filling out of the supplemental sheets provided?</p>
