I don't have the money to go out of state. I know UT would be a ridiculous stretch with my rank, but what about A&M, or other decent colleges in TX?

How hard would it be to transfer to UT later on? Would going to one of its sister schools improve my chances of that?

I know my awful rank and good SAT scores make me look lazy, but will they take an upward swing my junior and senior years into account?

SAT I : 2110 (720R 710M 680WR) <-should I retake this?

ACT: 29(I'll be retaking it soon. With a calculator this time.)

If you are in state for UT, just apply and if you are not admitted, you will get a CAP offer. Go somewhere else for a year (UTD maybe) and study hard; you can get good grades in college if you work at it. If you like where you are, stay there. If you still want to go to UT, take the CAP guaranteed transfer.

Thanks for the responses. Tech is indeed a public school, but I’d pick UTD over it for the neuroscience program, and I’m an auto-admit there.

I’m torn between sticking with UTD for the NS program and transferring to UT. How much would going to a better school like UT affect med school admissions?
