My Life is OVER. Chances of me getting into Texas A&M?

Can I still get into Texas A&M after SCREWING UP last year?

Well, Sophomore and Freshman year, my GPA was 3.3 and 3.1 respectively. Then Junior year, Idk what possessed me to not do anything, but I ended the year with a 2.4. So my average is now a 2.9 gpa, Top 40%...., and right now my SAT score is pretty bad. (1570) Also, I'm a Certified Nursing Assistant, in DECA, Spanish Club, Junior World Affair's Council, Vice President of Health Occupations Students of America, and I work at Kroger's Marketplace 20 hours a week.

How do I stack up at Texas A&M? Because I know there's no chance for me at UT. If not A&M.. guess I'll be heading down to Texas Tech in Lubbock.. eww.

My goal is to get a 700+ on the Math section, 650+ on Critical Reading, and whatever on Writing because A&M doesn't really care. So far, on practice test, I've been hitting the 740 range, and Critical Reading still needs some work, but it's about 620ish. And my friends said me being African-American would change everything, but I don't think so lol. Maybe..? Probably not.

So, what's the synopsis?

And I'm brand new to the forum, but I'll probably be a regular member for the next... well until August 2011 if you know what I mean.

Texas A&M is a good school particularly in engineering, and it has a pretty high acceptance rate. I know that if you are in the top 25% but have a combined math and reading score of over 1300, you can have automatic acceptance. My advice for you is to really emphasize your ec’s, get good rec. letters, and write an amazing essay. Focus on your SAT because at this point, that may really influence your admissions.

Yeah you won’t get into UT-Austin, A&M, nor Texas tech lol. you fail.

^^ wow. just…wow.

@eak325, absolutely unnecessarily harsh

To the OP my advice would be to shoot for very high SAT scores and do extremely well in your 1st semester of Senior year (like higher grades than you’ve ever gotten). Just keep working hard, it’s not too late.
