Quite frankly, my chances are bleak, and I know it.

Here are my options:

Apply mid-late September with what I have. *I will probably be deferred.

Apply after my September ACT (with hopefully much better results).

Apply after my September ACT & October SAT.

Apply after my September ACT, October SAT, & November SAT IIs (math level 2 retake & biology)

Please answer which option I should take, ASSUMING that I get much much better ACT and SAT scores.

(Yes, I posted this in “What are my chances?” as well.)

I guess what I’m asking is, although Im probably going to be deferred if I apply with what I have right now, is it worth the risk? Once I get deferred, I can always send in my new scores - so I’m learning toward option 1. What do you think?

It's a shame your gpa isn't just a little higher, or you'd be a shoe in. I think you still have a chance though. Just apply as early as possible. Your ACT is above the average so I wouldn't retake it.

The only reason I want to retake my ACT is because I KNOW I can do better than a 25 on the science.. I was getting perfect scores up until the day of the real exam :</p>

So it looks like I should be taking the "early as possible" route.

Michigan would probably be a reach. Your ACT and SAT are about average for OOS by Michigan standards, but your GPA is about half a point lower than the average. You should still apply, but your chances aren't good.

And Michigan does not look at SAT IIs.

Alexandre, would you say 1, 2, or 3?

Well, if you know you can improve your ACT substancially, wait, otherwise, go ahead and apply ASAP.

Umich doesn't look at SAT2s? Oh man I have really good SAT2 scores. If i send the whole SAT and SAT2 thing wouldn't they at least be able to take a glimpse?

wait that really sucks.. i want them to look at sat2s.. are you sure about that alexandre?

If there is anyone sure in this forum, it's definitely Alexandre lol

Honestly, the earlier you apply, the better chance you have. You're ACT score isn't the thing that won't get you in. It's your GPA. And you can't do anything about it. Just apply early, give yourself the best chance you can. It's a definite reach.

what?? don't you mean the opposite?

You lose nothing by sending in your SAT IIs to Michigan, but as far as I know, they are neither requested, nor considered.

I agree with A2Wolves, Michigan cares more about GPA and class rank than about SAT/ACT scores, and unlike the SAT/ACT, a GPA cannot be significantly altered in a semester. Apply, you stand a chance, but not a good one.
