What do you think my chances at Rice will be?
-I'm sorry, I know not all of the information is included, such as how good my recommendations and essays are, but I would appreciate it if you would give it your best shot.

*Expressed a lot of interest in Rice University i.e. class visits, overnight stay, information session, campus tour, and will schedule an interview.

Courseload: Very rigorous.
GPA stated above in unweighted.

Do well on the ACT/SAT, improve your class rank just a little bit (top 10% is ideal but if you’re top 15% that’s still really good and won’t hurt you much, especially because of Rice’s holistic admissions program), and make sure the subjective aspects of your app are good and you have a good shot. Nothing much that we can say beyond that.

Do you think you might want to talk to the track coaches at Rice? That might help too if you’re interested in running in college.

Good luck!

See some of the responses here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/rice-university/1282644-3-6-gpa-good-enough-get-into-rice.html

It’s definitely worth a shot, especially if you have an upward trend in your GPA. If you continue doing well, the number itself will also go up a bit.

First-generation college student and URM status will also provide a bit of a bump.
