there's nothin to say fred :)
minority with mind-boggling SATs= very likely acceptance bells (I'd expect at least one good university)

Columbia SEAS- reach
Cornell Engineering- not too much of a reach
Duke Pratt- possible
MIT (EA)- unlikely
Princeton- high reach
Rutgers (my state school)-def.
Stanford-possib;e, but u should give more to community i hear thats wa they want
UC berkeley- chance
University of Michigan-chance
UPenn-SEAS-reach

yum.italian

urine all of those schools

I would have to say ull have a great shot at all those schools. Great tests, good ecs, gpa really isnt that bad, and african american, you will def get into some really good schools.

Columbia SEAS- 25%
Cornell Engineering- 60-75%
MIT- 25-30%
Princeton- 15-20%
Rutgers- 90 - 100%
Stanford- 50%
UC berkeley- 40%
University of Michigan- same as berkeley
UPenn- 30-40%

ummm I'm just curious; What does being African-American have 2 do with your chances of getting in; like it jus puzzles me;

thanks for chancing me, by the way no i don't play star craft (the name is from Lord of the Rings: The Corsairs of Umbar)
well i'd say you have excellent chances at all the colleges you listed except maybe MIT and Princeton (although you still stand a good chance). the gpa shouldn't worry you that much because it really isn't that bad. i have hispanic friend with worse stats than you and he got into harvard and u penn easily
don't worry you stand a very good chance
good luck to you

WOW. Those stats are amazing. Although your GPA/Class Rank aren't stellar, they are sufficent and in light of your awesome SAT score, they won't look as bad.

Furthermore, your ECs are a good addition (not too great but enough to get u noticed) to your strong credentials.

Plus ur race also helps.

P.S.: Thanks for chancing me before.

^^
No problem.

Bump. 10 char

Those are amazing SAT scores! I'm guessing that the N/A on class rank means that your school doesn't rank students... That being the case, it looks like you're very strong with regard to academics. It's curious that you had more AP classes your junior year than senior year, not sure if that matters a whole lot, just interesting.

I'm not sure what Quiz Bowl is, but having leadership positions in the other activities is a good plus. Overall, though, I'd say that your academic profile is more impressive.

Being a URM and getting Semifinalist certainly helps as well, just another feather in your hat.

As for acceptance at the schools...

Columbia SEAS- high match
Cornell Engineering- match
Duke Pratt- match
MIT (EA)- low reach
Princeton- low reach
Rutgers (my state school)- safety
Stanford- low reach
UC berkeley- reach
University of Michigan- safety
UPenn-SEAS- low reach

I've heard that Cal schools OOS are very hard to get into, that's why I put UCB as a reach. Otherwise, you've got a great chance at any of those amazing schools. Thanks for chancing me! :)

Good chances at all of them.

Wwoody's guesses seem pretty accurate to me.

you'll probably get into all of them because you're black
but no awards might hurt you at top ivies.

i envy you. the schools you listed are all uber competitive, so there's no gaurantee, but you've got outstanding scores and if your recs and essays are strong i think you'll get into most of the ones you listed.

you are black, you will get in. no more chances necessary. affirmative action is your savior.

Well If the admissions officers respond the same way they rest of these people are, you should be.

Black kid great SATs....yadda yadda your e/c's could be stronger , so milk your essays

You said your were going to be doing chemistry research ..well my dad's a medicinal Chem Professor, so I was just wondering where at, he might know people there.

I'm loving the fact you are Nigerian! Send me a personal email.

forget berkeley (reject)... your in at Penn and Columbia for sure.

even if you weren't black, you would get into at least 1-2 of those schools

Amazing stuff, in at all except maybe Stanford/MIT just because they are impossible to get into. Dont get me wrong, you have an excellent shot at both! Please chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 thanks
