Your test scores are amazing. Don't worry about the GPA. Good Luck

Do you have a reason for the 3.6 GPA? If you do, you could tell them about it. (sorry if this question has already been asked)

Well, it's unweighted and no. I do not have a reason. But my school doesn't even calculate unweighted so I don't know.

doubters of fred are idiots. im willing to say he gets in 80% of his schools. i know black people with 1100/1600 getting into brown. with his SAT score, im sure an asian would get into at least 40% of those schools.

im willing to say... EVERYWHERE.

Yes you did, thank you very much. :)

Based on our HS scatergram, very competitive high school with lots of kids with high SAT scores, I think you have a good chance with Cornell. It depends on your background, URM can not always be counted if you are not from a disadvantage background(Read A for Admission).

"It depends on your background, URM can not always be counted if you are not from a disadvantage background"

that's exactly what i was thinking, but i wasn't sure if it was true, so didn't say it. but anywho...

very good chances at all those schools. btw, what school do you go to?

I go to Livingston High School. It's in NJ.

In everywhere. Except maybe some "Tuft's Syndrome" at a couple of schools. You win.

Livingston High? That's a really competitive school, isn't it?

You have really good chances everywhere. And your SAT scores are extremely impressive. As long as you write an excellent essay, I'm sure you'll get in to all the schools. Are you going to be a junior or a senior?

I'm going to be a senior. How do you know about Livingston High School?

fred, nobody's gonna give u a different opinion than the ones u have so far...ur chances thread has gotten to 4 pages...that's about as good as it gets...

I just got back my report card. Things are worse than expected. I got straight B+'s save one A- in APUS and a B in Bio. Most of the B+'s were really, really, close to A-'s.To make matters worse my UW GPA is now 3.41 for all 3 years, and 3.25 for soph and junior year. Yet somehow, my rank is still at the worst 50/400 and at best 37/400. How will this affect my chances now?

Stop worrying.

Affirmative action.

I belive that he is accepted to everything. As an African-American that has such sky shattering SAT's and competitve classes he is quite a rare find. I applaud your outstanding achievement especially in your EC's and I find your GPA to be very high according to what seems to be significant grade deflation. Even if he were to be Caucasian, he would have matches across the board but because he is an URM, he is safe matches IMO.

Chances are you'll get in with stellar test scores and since you're URM. But, its no guarantees since a Ivies, MIT and other top schools are reaches for everyone.

hey, thanks for chancing me!

i think you have a great chance at your schools! your ec's are excellent, and your standardized scores at really good!
