Hooks:
- I moved right smack in the middle of Freshman Year, and my GPA/Rank suffered tremendously because of it, it took me all of frosh year to adapt, and starting sophomore year i was back on track. GPA: (9, 3.6) (10, 4.1) (11, 4.4)
- When I was 6 years old I was hit by a SUV in my old town, after 9 surgeries and lots of pain/suffering I surpassed all of it and didn't give up
- I took/will be taking Physics Honors the summer of 2004 and Pre-calculus Honors the summer of 2005

I've Always taken the most challenging courses offered at my school (i.e all honors if not AP)

I know this is a lot, but if you guys can help me out that would be great! ty =)

Colleges that I am applying too:
JHU (Probably Early Decision)
Cornell A/S (If I don't do JHU ED, then Cornell ED)
NYU CAS
Duke
Carnegie Mellon U
Emory

bump please, and I'm 95% sure I will be applying to JHU ed

Post your Schedule....Cuz I'm also taking pre-calc next year, currently i'm a freshman....

you have a great chance at jhu, imo.

i don't know much about jhu admissions except that it has a really high ED acceptance rate.. something around half of the applicants get in (if i'm not mistaken)

and i think the whole moving thing will be sufficient enough as an explanation

you have a pretty good chance. keep your grades really good and write good essays/get good recs

"- When I was 6 years old I was hit by a SUV in my old town, after 9 surgeries and lots of pain/suffering I surpassed all of it and didn't give up"

i really sympathize with you...but no offense, and this is just my opinion, but that was when you were 6. If you really want to write an essay about hardships, talk about moving high schools or something...I just don't think its pertinenet.....yeah....cringes

Are you high ebony?

Getting over hardships and he should choose moving over getting hit by a car and enduring 9 syguries? WRONG

My last surgery was when I was 14, which is about 3, the surgeries all span from when I was 6 to 14, so it is still recent, and I would still consider this the turning point of my life over the fact that I moved, I guess it's just my opinion. Thanks a lot for everyone that responded though, I just hope that JHU looks over the rank/gpa, my sat/sat ii will be strong and I really enjoy participating in stuff that isn't directly academically oriented (i.e Key Club). Soo yeah, lol, anymore suggestions would be awesome. thank you

oooops, I meant "which is about 3 years ago,"
