chances with sat?

Hey, i was just wondering if anybody could tell me how far i would go in applying for colleges within California. Though my SATs are high (2200), and i both take AP classes and am the president of a club, i have a very low GPA, about 2.8.
How far would this get me?
do colleges care more about test scores, gpa, or extracarriculars, especially in CA?
is community service important at all? my school in South Carolina stressed this alot.

Feedback on any of these questions would be greatly appreciated

If you tell us what you're looking for in a college (location, size, atmosphere, etc.) and your stats in more detail, then we can start thinking about what schools you should look at.

Also, is that GPA weighted or unweighted? How are you ranked in your school? Do you have an "upward trend"?

about the same for most of my life since middle school. i also do well in both large and small enviornments.

my ap classes, suprisingly, are my best

Are you instate or OOS? You mention S Carolina but did you movie?

Anyways, if you have a 2.8 GPA I doubt you can get into any of the UCs, irrespective of SAT score, since they are pretty strict on that. You need a 3.4 min to get into UCR OOS.

State schools tend to stress GPA quite a bit. You might get into a few CA state schools, like CSUs, but UCs would be impossible as an out-of-stater.

any certain reason why you wan to go to California?

yeah. i just moved from SC to CA.
