2100 sat score is not a low sat score. where is everyone getting that from.

3.81 is fine and nothing to worry about. If it was <=3.6 [or 3.7?] or something, then maybe it'd be considered low.

okay fine. Forget the chances since basically what I've gotten from this is that Im' competitive, but need to focus on the other intangible aspects in order to successfully get in. thanks for the help with that

now how about the second part of that question...can anyone tell me how difficult it is to transfer into the EE department for sophomore year?

aquamarinee, why not try the ACT. If you have 700+s, on all the sections and you get a good ACT score, then it's fine. If you get a good ACT score that translates into a much better SAT score, then you can rely on it instead. I'm taking the ACT in June and that is what I will rely on.

3.81 GPA is fine. Mine will probably be a 3.86/3.87 unweighted or 3.91 depending on the scale they use.

well my is not really 3.81 but more like 95.5 or something
i go to school in canada, so no 4.0 gpa wut so ever

how is 95.5/100 translated into 4.0 gpa?

thx

How long does it take to prepare for the ACT then? I haven't even tried a practice test yet xD I'll try taking the SAT again maybe and the ACT then. Wow, I seem so desperate.

The ACT is a more straightforward test that concentrates on material that you have learned in school, but destroys with the rigorous time limits. You'd basically need to review math and then practice to try and reduce your test times.

Haha sounds good to me. I'll try it out :) Hopefully, I can do better than a 32, which is roughly the SAT score I have now...

I'm shooting for the 33+.

Hopefully, a 34 will be plausible. I'm doubting that I can get a 35 though, only because the equivalent of that is probably a 2300... which I'm 15000 miles away from. Haha.

Don't worry. The ACT and SAT are completely different monsters. I do better on the ACT than I do on the SAT, loads better. My friend does better on the SAT than the ACT; he gets so bogged down. Just see what works out better for you. What may not be manageable for you on the SAT may very well be within reach for you on the ACT.

Thanks. I hope we both improve immensely! goes and buys ACT book

ummm okay thanks for highjacking my thread aquamarinee :), but can anyone answer my question about whether or not its hard to transfer into the engineering school for your sophomore year?

if u want to do engineering, why dont u apply for it as a freshman?

by the way, im just trying to tell u why ppl dont give u chances. we cant. even the adcoms cant completely (this is why the adcoms debate so much and some even cry when their fav applicants dont get in.) Telling u its a reach may discourage u from applying, telling u its a match may dissapoint u when u get ur decision, telling u its a safety is simply not right. just apply.

i love my poor grammar. this is what i used to get in. of course im not being sarcastic. the cornell rock yay

ugh again...can we just answer my question directly instead of interrogating me? If you really want to know its because first of all premed may not turn out to be for me and thus I would like to pursue engineering. Secondly, I'm also considering doing patent law, and it would be lovely to be able to transfer to engineering for my sophomore year if thats the path I wish to pursue. And I know for patent law I can have any science degree, but I'd like to do comp E because I've heard that many patent employers like this degree for patent law.

Now can we please answer my question? I know I'm starting to sound like an a** but this is seriously annoying. There was no need for this thread to be 3 pages long if people would not highjack my thread, and if they would say it up front instead of being sarcastic.
