Chances?

Age: Junior
Unweighted GPA: 3.5 - GPA pulled down by grades from freshman year in which I attended a tough private school and had mono for a large chunk of the year, managed mostly high B's/B+ but since switching schools, have shown a huge improvement, was around 3.2 unweighted after freshman year.
Class Rank: 2nd Decile (top 20%) - Look Above
Composite ACT Score: 33
PSAT: 207 (National Merit Scholarship Commendation)
White Male
After my senior year, I will have taken 5 AP Courses (Calc BC, Physics B, US History, Psychology, and Statistics) and the rest honors.

ECs

NHS
World Language NHS
SADD
School Newspaper
DECA (Officer Next Year)
Student Council

3 Years Varsity Field Hockey and Captain (yes, I'm a guy lol) (1, most likely 2 Year Conference All-Star)
2 Years Varsity Hockey starter (1, most likely 2 Year Conference All-Star)
2 Years Varsity Lacrosse

Out of School:
Part-time Job
Intern for a Congressional Campaign
100+ Hours Community Service
Biomedical Engineering (My intended major) Summer Program at Western New England College

For schools, I initially had some schools out of the question but with my ACT score (which I took basically never having looked at a practice test before, could get a 34 or even 35 if I prepare and get a tutor and take it again) and my junior grades pulling my GPA up from that awful freshman year, I think I could have a good chance at some top tier schools. There are many I know for sure I should get into but I would like to know what people think my chances are for some of these schools:

Tufts (have a good connection)
Columbia (legacy and connection w/ admissions)
Johns Hopkins (did CTY Program through Johns Hopkins)
Brown (legacy)
Georgetown
UPenn

I'm just not sure where I fit in because my grades are a bit lower than what some of the top schools accept and really didn't do that amazing my sophomore year either (all A's and then a B and a B+). I think I do have somewhat solid extra-curriculars and the field hockey thing will definitely be a nice hook (considering writing my college essay about that). Please let me know what you think my chances are for those schools. Thanks.

You might want to find some easier schools to get into.

I do have easier ones that don’t really need to be on here since I know I should get into them. I’m just trying to gauge how much of a reach these schools will be.

Well obviously your GPA is bringing you down your ACT score is good. I think you’ll get in few of those schools but couldn’t say which ones since they’re all similar in their admission. Write good essays and get good recommendations though- try to make up as much for your GPA as you can (which you probably already know).

Your ECs are actually quite good, excellent if you have leadership in any of those clubs your school activities. I think if you bump up your ACT by a point or two and continue to raise your GPA (which is totally probable because you’re still a junior), you’ll be in at one of your reaches where you have connections. Best of luck!
