theres nothing that really stands out. if you were a florida resident i’d say you’ve got a good shot, but being out of state makes it really hard to say anything.

It is one of the best and most difficult programs. Intel, Google and the rest of Silicon Valley recruit from there (personal experience, 3 just started at Intel being paid in 6 figures. 4 @ Google and those are just the ones I know)

Out of state, very tough.

Alright, I’ll pass then. I’m looking for schools that I can call targets and safeties as I already have reaches. Thanks for you help!

Like others have said, UF is probably a reach.
Suggestions (if you’re serious about UF):
- The first hurdle in the college admisison game is demonstrating academic achievement. Check out the 2011 UF Freshman Profile ([UF Admissions](Freshman - How To Apply - University of Florida)), and note the admit rates for various values in each of the three categories (GPA; Strength of Schedule; and SAT). Set your own goals in each category, and then decide whether you want to go for it. And if you decide yes, then do whatever it takes to achieve those goals.
- Remember that you’ll be one of ~30000 UF applicants for a class of ~6400. Your application must stand out from the rest. IMO, evidence of proven leadership and level of achievement will reinforce a good resume. And if you can show that you have applied those skills to help make the world a better place, you’re on your way to an application that stands out.
- Your essay (and resume) really does make a difference.
- If you elect to submit your letters of rec, be advised that UF Admissions won’t read them.
Hope that helps.
Good luck
