Chances??

Hi, I'm just wondering what my chances for U of M are.

GPA: 3.4, 2.7 freshman, 3.5 sophomore, 3.95 junior. Should have a 4.0 for first semester senior year. My first semester senior year grades will be included in my transcript when I apply.

Essays: About business, investing, and my passion for economics.
Letters of rec:
First teacher: AP Econ teacher (Will be absolutely amazing he loves me!)
Second teacher: AP Calc (Should be pretty good, nothing like the other one)
Supplementary: CEO of Publicly traded company(Should be really good, he has helped me with ideas and getting funding.)

So what are my chances? I will chance back. As you can see I was very apathetic towards school, however, I really started to enjoy learning my sophomore year. Oh and i'll be applying to the LSA College.

If I were your admissions counselor I would be looking at your GPA trend upward as you progressed through school and your AP courses. I think you should take the ACT again but I really wonder what an extra point would buy you at this point. But make your essays super because they will be the deal breaker if its close. Write at a college level but don’t use vocabulary outside your comfort level. Use organization (they do look for that) and make strong points backed by examples that progress through your essay. Do use a conclusion. When counselors get tired they sometimes read your first paragraph and intro (identify the thesis), scan the body for organization and then read the conclusion. Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips preston! I’ll make sure to keep those in mind while I work on my essay. Oh and I forgot to add this my grandfather is an alumni.

Some more opinions would be great!
