Your SAT’s are lower than Fordham’s average, but you never know. I don’t know if you have other EC’s or do volunteer work, but if you don’t then that may be a problem too.

I applied but I don’t think i’m getting in. My best scores were 630 reading, 660 writing, and 460 math. just a really bad math student.

My UW GPA is 90.66 - not sure what it is weighted. I’ll have 6 AP’s and got 4’s on the 3 that i’ve taken so far. Good recs, decent EC’s but I think Fordham is a pretty big reach for me.

@N33Raj: Fordham would be quite a reach for you with those scores. You’re about 150 points below Fordham’s SAT avg and GPA is low too, since Fordham looks at unweighted scores. My brother was wait-listed and then rejected with an 1850 and 93 unweighted average a few years ago, but admissions has gotten even tougher since then. Match students have around a 1900 SAT score and a 92 unweighted average. He did later transfer though, so that may be an option for you as well.

Also, do you have volunteer experience or other impressive EC’s? I doubt working as a manager at DD will cut it if you don’t have anything else.

@tellch00: Fordham would be a super-reach with a 460 math score, but you never know. Your writing and verbal scores are around Fordham’s average, and AP performance shows that you can handle college-level work. However, Fordham may be hesitant after looking at the Math score…having at least a 500 is important for that psychological barrier. Fordham is really trying to increase its SAT average each year to move up in the rankings. Do you have any hooks…does your high school have a good tie-up with Fordham? Good luck!

Yes, I agree with Starburyknicks. D1 applied back in 2004 and was deferred, then later accepted. Her SATs were 1350 (this was before the writing portion was included), and GPA was 3.3 uw. What I thought was strange was that after they decided to accept her, they offered her a merit award, very small but something nonetheless. So I would say if you want any chance at all, apply EA, maybe you will at least get deferred.
