Right now I'm a junior at a pretty competitive high school in the northeast. My gpa is about a 95.5 (so i guess that's still a 4.0)? But I'm not really sure becuase my school only does numbers. I have a sibling at penn, and I have a 2320 on my SATs. I've taken almost all the hardest classes throughout high school except AP Chem. I'm an officer of model UN, hopefully going to be editor in chief of my school newspaper next year (if not just editor of a section), the captain of moot court, and officer of student congress. i've gone on a bunch of habitat for humanities, and i have over 140 hours of comm serv and counting. I also do research at my school and have won three awards for that in the past. I'm not sure if my gpa is a little low for penn. I've heard they take out all classes except for the main 5, and if so, I think my gpa would be a little lower. My research teacher gives me very high grades, so i think that may inflate it a bit. do penn/the other ivies do that? but i mean i don't really take any bullsh** classes. my electives are like ap psych, ap stat, etc. oh yea ill be graduating with 11 AP's. ive gotten all 5's and one 4 on the ones i've taken so far. I got a 720 on my ap bio SAT II as a freshman, but I'm going to take it again this year cuz im in AP bio and hpoefully do better. I'm also goign to take the math and american SAT II at the end of the year. how do I look as a candidate for penn, columbia, or brown? i really like penn right now, but I need to tour the other schools as well. I'm shooting for that range of schools though.
