Chances?

I am a Minnesota resident and a high school senior with an unweighted GPA of 3.32 and an ACT score of 29. I want to get a biology major or a computer science major. I have taken 5 AP courses. I have lots of volunteering hours, I play basketball, have a part time job, and also am apart of a school club. My brother is currently a senior at UW Madison and i want to follow his path. Please let me know your thoughts.

Ouch, that’s a low gpa for UW. Especially with your ACT score one would expect better grades. The AP exam scores matter- quality not just quantity. The AP class grade does not always reflect the AP exam score- grading and material taught can vary. Rising grades- eg much better junior year grades than the gpa make a difference. Good study habits are needed to succeed and UW may not feel you have them yet based on your gpa.

Siblings can vary a lot in ability and other academic factors (classes taken and grades).
