Do you think I have a good chance to get into the computer science program?

Thanks

I think you have a really good chance at being accepted... I'm not too famaliar with the computer science program, so I couldn't comment about that.

Good Luck!

Bump!

Please can someone give me some input!

Your credentials are pretty bad, but Stony Brook isn't that hard of a school to get into.
Personally I think you're fine, I've seen people with similar records get in so I wouldn't worry.

Sorry I missed your post. Tough to say; your coursework is good, and your GPA and SAT are in the ballpark. I'd say you're certainly a competitive candidate, but not having calculus is going to hurt you for computer science.

Good luck.

Chris

I recently received my scores for the OCT SAT.

Math - 670
Critical Reading - 580
Writing - 550

Do I stand a better chance of getting in now?

Thanks for taking the time to help me, Chris.

Hey! Nice job. Much better.

Chris

You look good for the program, but you wont be admitted into it until your junior year, so don't worry about it yet. Chris, I'm pretty sure as long as you have taken Pre Calc you are fine.

Frusion, you have no idea what you are talking about. Stop bashing people, and the school. To get in, it's hard, maybe not as hard as an Ivy league school, but it's hard. It's also very hard to stay in here, there is a really high freshman drop out rate. Also his classes look good, so what are you talking about?

Correction. 90% of our freshmen returned this year -- we definitely do NOT have a big drop out rate.

Chris

Or as Chris corrected me 90%. I just heard from some people a lot of people drop out, sorry Chris, don't want to give the school a bad rep.
