Chances.

Hey everyone.

I'm a freshman at Creighton University, and I'm thinking about transferring in the Fall.

I will be applying to Boston College, Georgetown School of Foreign Service, U. Virginia, Notre Dame, and U. Illinois (in-state).

First semester grades have not come back yet, but I'm anticipating a GPA between 3.75-4.0 with a balanced, 16-credit course load. My recommendations will be good.

I am in the process of almost single-handedly starting a campus radio station which is scheduled to begin operations in Fall of 2009. I also start for the ultimate frisbee team as a freshman, am a member of the College Republicans, and have started Creighton's first A Cappella group (we are horrible, but the admissions people don't need to know that :P ).

I did pretty well in high school (4.0 GPA, 2160 SAT, elite private school in the DC Area, plenty of leadership and ECs) and was wait-listed at Georgetown SFS the first time around (which should help my chances there, right?).

What are my chances? Is there anything else I should take into consideration?

Also, in a non-chances-related aside, have any transfer students here been REALLY apprehensive about transferring and then ended up loving their new school? I need some reassurance.

Just a quick update...

I've got some of my final grades back and can say with some certainty that I have a 3.87 GPA right now. All A's and one B+, it seems.
