How many AP classes have you taken and how have you done on AP exams if you have taken any. This will help us tell you more accurately your chances since it is hard to know where you stand without knowing your classes. Also, what is your rank if you know?

Take the SAT and retake the ACT.

rank is tied for 1 of 465
i've taken 2 APs and 3 next year
don't know the results yet

You don't need to retake the ACT to get into Notre Dame if you have a 30.

I would disagree. You can get in with less, but the average is now a 31 and I wouldn't settle at this point if your score is below average. It is well worth another shot at it because ND is really paying attention to test scores recently. I have a friend that was valedictorian of my high school and had a 1340 SAT (about the same as a 30) and was rejected last year.

I don't say this to discourage you, I think you have a decent shot. I just don't want you settling for a 30 when you may be able to improve it. You have time since it is still the summer and you may as well give it one more shot to see if you can improve that number, you know? That number can be the difference, so why not give it one more shot. I wouldn't settle with a 30, however.

I got a 30 ACT my freshman year, and I retook it. I ended up with a 32 ACT and 1350 SAT and was accepted. Hope that kinda helps.

Also, it's not all about standardized test scores. Notre Dame wants "well-rounded" students, and it looks like you have that covered. Good luck!

I agree with the "well-rounded" aspect of it, but based on what I have seen, SAT's may not be able to make you but it does appear that they can break you :(

Get a prep book, and retake the ACT. With your ECs, I think you've got a great shot with at least a 32. Good luck!
