Chances?

Hi! I really want to go to the University of Rochester, but I might not be able to apply early decision (parents still need convincing. ^_^). If anyone can tell me what my chances are, I'll be extremely grateful!

Percentage: 85% (My school doesn't do GPAs, and a website just told me to leave the percentage the way it is.)

SAT Score: Reading: 710, Math: 690, Writing: 650, Total: 2050. I'll be retaking the SAT, and I'll hopefully do better. I'm also planning on taking the SAT Subject Tests in Biology and Chemistry.

Extra-Curriculars: Dance, Flute, Violin, Veena (another instrument), Classical Singing, Tennis, Badminton, Setting up a band in my school, Setting up and working at a library, Shadowing a doctor, Volunteer work at a Rhumatology Clinic...I think that's it.

I plan on writing my essay about moving halfway across the world (I currently live in an Asian country, but I'm not international because I have a US passport). Hopefully that might make my percentage look ok-ish.

Also, I've been taking Biology and Chemistry Practice Tests for the SAT 2 online at Sparknotes. Are those about as difficult as the actual test will be?

Thank you!

I’m a sophomore at the UofR right now, and based on what I’ve gathered about my peers, it looks like you have a good shot! I don’t have an answer to your question about the SparkNotes practice exams, though, sorry =(

Thanks!! You just made my day!
I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit more about the University of Rochester. Like, the feel of it, I guess?

Hi, livelaughlove5… Let me know if you have any questions. Also, there are a number of ‘chance me’ threads that are relavent to Rochester and I have tried to respond with a bit of information regarding the different criteria we consider when evaluating applications, including the overall assessment of ‘fit’. Check it out!
