Are you a junior or a senior. If a senior, maybe but not likely. If you are a junior, get that GPA up, be sure you have a strong schedule with honor and AP, and prep for the SAT. Do you have campus involvement? Off campus involvement?

I am a junior and I think I will get the gpa weighted to around a 3.9 or so and plan to take around 3 or 4 aps next year. My on campus involvement is National Honors Society, Key Club, and another honors society(I forget the name). I don’t have any off campus involvement. Also I had a question about the Bright Futures: Do they weigh Aps a whole credit or do they only give you and extra .5. Also if I took 5 math classes with one being a C can my extra math class replace that C? Thanks so much

Oh and more than 250 volunteer hours if that counts for anything

Being a junior you have a shot, but every year the middle 50% of SAT scores goes up. AP’s are weighted as 1. And for core GPA, FSU looks at all math, all english, all science, all language. 5 math classes is only average for FSU. The website says that “The typical student accepted to Florida State has 4.5 units of English, 5 units of math, 4.5 units of natural science, 4.5 units of social science, and 3.5 units of foreign language.”

Alright thanks a bunch and do they also look at social studies or is that not included? Also would AP Psych count as a Science?

They look at your AP/IB/DE courses regardless of what category they’re in, but yes AP Psych counts as a science.

Actually, they look at AP/DE/IB, but they do not consider all of them in your CORE GPA.

Yes they do. I asked last year when someone told me they wouldn’t consider IB ITGS since it didn’t fall under any category.

Well I mean they used it in whatever GPA they use for the freshman profile and determining honors eligibility.

Well I mean they used it in whatever GPA they use for the freshman profile and determining honors eligibility. It’s the GPA they tell you they have for you when you get here

So are social studies counted as a core class?
